OUTER BANKS N.C. LIGHTS

The Outer Banks are a 200-mile-long (320 km) string of barrier islands and spits off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia, on the east coast of the United States. They cover most of the North Carolina coastline, separating Currituck Sound, Albemarle Sound, and Pamlico Sound from the Atlantic Ocean. The Outer Banks are a major tourist destination and are known around the world for their wide expanse of open beachfront. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore has four campgrounds open to visitors.[1] The treacherous seas off the Outer Banks and the large number of shipwrecks that have occurred there have given these seas the nickname Graveyard of the Atlantic.

The video of the Outer Banks UFO's in its original form is posted on an account by the name of William Buy. It is the only video listed on the account. It was posted on September 28, 2010 and as of the writing of this blog post it has over 1.4 million views. The video had not been monetized when I watched it at the writing of this post.

It should be noted that at least one debunking theory was put forward and immediately shot down by none other then the United States Military. Fox news reported the following:

One person who commented on the video said that he believed they were from a nearby military base."I am pretty sure I know what those lights are," Derrick Chennault, who identified himself as a former Marine based at the 2nd Marine Air Wing in Cherry Point, N.C. wrote.“We used to regularly drop flares out of the back of our plane in the evenings for military exercises in that area," Chennault continued. "They are one million candle power each so they were pretty bright and can be seen from far away and floated down slow as they hung from a parachute.“The military base is approximately 125 miles west of the Outer Banks. However, a spokesman from the military base confirmed to Fox 10 Phoenix that no aircraft from that base was in the area the day the video was posted.

According to yahoo.com, "The clip in question appears to show a cluster of 14 glowing orbs hovering above a body of water said to be Pamlico Sound."

yahoo.com goes on to report, "According to The Charlotte Observer, Guy, who is from Indiana, is one of many workers sent to repair damage caused by Hurricane Dorian on Ocracoke Island. The video was reportedly filmed aboard a ferry crossing from Ocracoke Island to Swan Quarter."

If we factor in that the UFO's were actually filmed in the area known as Pamlico Sound and that the ferry that the UFO's were sighted from was on its way to Swan Quarter NC, which is to the north of the military base and west of Ocracoke, Island, the estimated distance from the military base by FOX as 125 miles seem very reasonable. To see those flares 125 miles away from the vantage of sea level would seem pretty amazing.

That combined with the fact that the military ruled out the possibility of flares and this video becomes a lot more interesting. Judging from the fact that the video is the only one on the channel and it has not been monetized along with the fact that it has been copied and monetized by many others, Mr. Buy's motive does not appear to be that of money. In fact Mr. Buy does not even seem to be seeking media attention. It looks like he simply videoed a UFO event and published it for the world to see. Awesome.
